  • Doe Library (Berkeley, CA, USA),  Boxing and Preservation Assistants                                             2019-2020

    • Work for the Conservation Treatment Laboratory at Doe Library, which is the main library in the University of California, Berkeley

    • My main job is to fold boxes for special collected books preservation, matching books with each box, Colibri books, measuring books, pad the boxes.

    • Became familiar with conservators working environment, as well as some basic skills of handling and storing ancient books.

  • UCLA/Getty Diversity in Conservation Workshop (Los Angeles, CA, USA), Participant                           2019

    • An introductory program for students who are interested in the conservation field, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

    • In this program, participants will learn the basic information of conservation, as well as how to make a condition report and treatment proposal. 

    • In addition, students will learn some simple conservation techniques including using examination techniques, basic knowledge of adhesives, solvents, folder making, and compensation for the loss like tear repairing.

  • Headquater (Berkeley, CA, USA), Intern                                                                                                        2019

    • ​Intern for Lisa O'Reilly and her Headquarter (studio). Jobs include research for art projects, gathering a reader, and organize studio space.

  • History of Art Undergraduate Association (Berkeley, CA), Treasurer                                              2018 to 2019

    • Worked as the Treasurer for H.ART at UC Berkeley, made up of seven students from the department.  The main goal is to connect undergraduate students with faculties and professionals in the field.

    • The main job is to manage budgets for the events 

  • CALPRIL- Berkeley Chapter, (Berkley, CA, USA), Volunteer                                                                      2018

    • ​Volunteering for CALPIRG at UC Berkeley, a student-directed nonprofit group working on protects the environment promotes civic engagement and makes college more affordable. Mainly working as a public speaker who encourages students and citizens to sign up petitions. Developed a strong public speaking skill.

  • Marin Humane Society, (Novato, CA, USA), Evening Dog Feeder                                                      2017-2018

    • ​Volunteered as a dog care assistance in an animal shelter, and prepared food for dogs every Wednesday night. Developed strong empathy and communication skills, also learned to work under loud noise.

  • College of Marin Fine Art Gallery, (Kentfield, CA), Volunteer                                                                      2017

    • Volunteered as part of a curation team while took a Gallery Design class at the College of Marin Fine Art Gallery, which is a gallery for the College of Marin.

    • The team’s job including gallery space design, preparation, installation, and deinstallation.

    • Learned fundamental knowledge of exhibition, including how to handle paintings and small sculptures, how to mount works on the wall, and how to design gallery spaces for an exhibition.  I also learned to work within a large team and improved communication skills.

    • ​Personal Assistant for an independent senior designer. Mainly helped him organizing and solving minor technological problems. I learned some managing skills and technological knowledge through experience.

  • Chinese Student Scholar Association, (Chicago, IL), Public Resources Team Leader                                   2016

    • Leader of the CSSA - Public Resource Team, which is an organization to help Chinese students in SAIC, and to promote cross-cultural communications in the school.

    • Mainly worked on funding raising for the CSSA, organize the budget, and communicate with the other eight CSSA in Chicago.  It also helped with event preparation.

  • Panda Express, (Sausalito, CA, USA), Service and Kitchen Team                                                                 2016

    • ​Worked for Panda Express, a fast-food restaurant. Served food to customers and collecting checks mainly. I also helped to clean up often. Learned to identify issues on my own and developed some problem-solving skills.

  • Research House of Asian Art (Chicago, IL, USA), Assistant Curator                                                            2015

    • ​Volunteered as a curator for a Chinese ink art show "In Riotous Profusion - Contemporary Abstract Ink Paintings from China," yet mostly make advertised for this show. I learned to communicate with managers from different companies.

  • Tiburon Baptist Church (Tiburon, CA, USA), Choir                                                                              2013-2018

    • ​Member of the adult choir and singing soprano. Participate every Sunday and some special events, and had been the lead singer once. Developed confident and singing skills.

SKILL         

  • Language: Reading and Speaking knowledge in both Chinese and English.

  • Art:  Strong painting skills especially in traditional oil painting techniques.  Have explored other painting media including acrylic, watercolor, egg tempera, milk paint, gouache.  I also have some experiences with other forms of art including ceramics, sculpture, printmaking, photography, installation art, and video art. 

  • Conservation: Basic knowledge of object handling, storing, and cleaning.
